Walk Gisborne Terrain.
The track comprises a large variety of terrain & conditions underfoot.
You will be walking on or through - bulldozed farm tracks, narrow stock tracks, flat open grassy ridgelines, flat open grassy farmland, creek crossings and wider chiseled walking tracks & steps through bush. Expect some uneven ground.
There are hill climbs on all days with Day 1 being the most challenging to The Peak at 323 m.
- A reasonable level of fitness is recommended. Leading up to your adventure we encourage you to get out and do some walking, starting out with half an hour a day and gradually building up to 2-3 longer walks each week including some uphill. The secret is to start slowly and increase your exercise gradually. The fitter you are the more enjoyable your walk will be.
- Walking boots are recommended & a walking pole if you have one. We do have some poles available for use. Make sure you wear in your boots before the walk!
