Deposit
Confirmation of your booking will be accepted on receipt of a deposit of $100 per person, preferably by internet banking or cheque.
- Cancellation within 28 days of the confirmed walk booking date = 80% refund
- Cancellation between seven and 28 days of the confirmed walk booking = 50% refund
- Cancellation of less than a week before confirmed walk booking = no refund.
Meal Policy - In the event that one or more of your group is unable to come within three days prior to your group arriving at Walk Gisborne, changes to meal orders are not able to be accepted. Therefore full remuneration is required for those meal orders.
Payment
Full payment for the walk packages and extras can be paid prior to your arrival, preferably by internet banking or by cheque or cash on the night of your arrival at The Girls Brigade Lodge.
Season
Walk Gisborne is open from Labour Weekend until 30th April. Be prepared for all conditions, from the crispness of spring and autumn evenings to the glorious heat of Gisborne’s summer days.
Closed for Christmas and New Year - from 17th December 2011, re-opening on Monday 16th January, 2012.
Safety
You will be provided with:
- fully equipped first aid kit (please leave at The Girls Brigade Lodge at the end of your walk)
- aerial numbered grid map of the stations, for prompt location
- emergency cellphone numbers. You will also be asked to read and sign a walkers’ safety form.
- details of our emergency procedure are in the walk booklet you will receive on night 1 at the walk de-briefing.
Luggage
Don’t worry about having to carry your bags. They will be transported from The Girls Brigade Lodge to The Shearers' Quarters on Day 1 of the walk and back to The Girls Brigade Lodge on Day 3. Please limit the weight of your bags to 15kg each. |
